In the early morning hours of September 11, 2020, our San Francisco coffee shop was suddenly and unexpectedly destroyed in a high-speed car crash.
At 2:15 AM, we received a call no business owner ever wants—a police officer informing us that a vehicle had crashed into our shop. What we initially thought might be minor damage quickly turned into something far more devastating.
A driver, being pursued by police, was traveling approximately 70 MPH in the wrong direction on Market Street when they crashed directly into our storefront.
The impact completely leveled our coffee shop.
Thankfully, no one was injured. But the damage to our space—and to our team—was significant.
Our San Francisco location was more than a coffee shop. It was a place for community, connection, and daily ritual.
Customers gathered here every day for:
In an instant, everything changed.
The storefront was destroyed, forcing us to temporarily close our doors. What had been a vibrant, welcoming space became unrecognizable overnight.
Despite having insurance, we faced unexpected challenges, including a refusal to cover the damages.
In the face of uncertainty, we focused on what matters most—our community.
We:
We were incredibly grateful for the support we received. Messages, shares, and orders reminded us that Weaver’s is more than a physical location—it’s a community.
We captured the incident on our in-store camera and created a short clip of the car crash.
While our San Francisco shop was temporarily closed, our commitment to quality coffee never stopped.
You can continue to support Weaver’s by choosing to buy coffee online, where we roast to order and deliver directly to your door.
This moment tested us—but it also reinforced what Weaver’s stands for:
We are continuing to rebuild, serve our customers, and deliver the same quality coffee we always have.
To everyone who reached out, shared our story, and supported us—thank you. Your support means everything to us.
