Colombia Coffee Triangle Eje Cafetero

There are many steps in producing quality arabica coffee beans. Yes, the right climate and terrain, however, every step in the coffee production and coffee processing matters. Growing and collecting coffee beans must be properly executed.  Arabica coffee cherries, when ripe are usually picked by hand. The coffee trees are grown on steep slopes usually surrounded by banana plants and trees. These trees act as a shade to protect the coffee trees from getting fried in the sun. If you want to put this into perspective, over half a million coffee farmers in Colombia handpick the red coffee cherries off the coffee trees so we can have delicious coffee. Large machines cannot tell if a coffee cherry is ripe, this must be done by hand and this is truly a labor of love because it means only the best coffee beans actually make it into your coffee bag.
